3 Straight!!!!!
Our Defense finally has arrived in the last 3rd of the season, helping to seal a win for the Warriors Saturday night against the Navy Midshipmen. Our defense came up big in the final series of the fourth quarter where they held Navy by sacking quarterback Ricky Dobbs on the last two plays of the game.
This sets up a great showdown with Wisconsin, as this game not only will give Hawai'i another winning season it will also allow the Warriors to become Bowl eligible. This would allow Hawai'i to go to the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl if they win. The game will start at 6:30 HT (8:30 PT my time) so i am looking forward to Hawai'i taking on the Badgers it should be a great game to watch.

Wahine Sweep Awards
The Rainbow Wahine swept the top honors at the WAC awards ceremony taking Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, and WAC Player of the Week. These are great accomplishments for the UH Volleyball program, congratulations to all of the volleyball team and we look forward to another great season next year.
2 in a row
Congratulations to the Warriors on two wins in a row. That was a nail biter, but they pulled it out in the end winning on a touchdown by Leon Wright-Jackson to put the Warriors ahead 17-10. The defense stopped the Spartans on their possession to seal the win for the warriors improving their record to 3-5 WAC and 5-6 Overall. Shane Austin did very well throwing for 299 yards and rushing for a touchdown.
This game showed that the defense is making definite strides towards being able to control opposing offenses. Now we will just have to hope that this continues against Navy and Wisconsin. These will be tough games but easily within the reach of getting wins.

Two and counting
Well the Warrior's have apparently righted the ship and are looking to move towards finishing the season out on a very positive note. There are a couple of big games still to come but it is great to finally be putting games in the win column. The Warriors will beat San Jose State then look towards finishing the season out with an excellent 2 game stretch, facing Navy And Wisconsin.
The UH vs Navy game is going to be one of the rowdiest games of the season at home due to the large naval forces posted there that will be attending the game.
Great job Warriors lets keep it rolling!!!!!

Hawai'i vs NMSU
Well the time has come to see if the Warriors can start a winning streak. On paper the warriors should be able to win this game pretty handily. The main key will be for the continued improvement of the Warrior defense. The defense stepped up last game and we can only hope that this is a sign of defensive play to come. Go Warriors and beat NMSU

Finally the 1st WAC Win
The Warriors got their first WAC victory Saturday night, by destroying Utah State 49-36. Hawai'i put up an outstanding 698 total offensive yards. The Warriors fell just short of their all time record of 747 total yards they put up in the 2003 Hawai'i vs Army game. The biggest surprise was that Hawai'i discovered the running game and totaled an amazing 360 rushing yards. The last time Hawai'i racked up this many rushing yards was in 1996.
This was an all around great performance from the Warriors. It was great to see Greg Salas return to the level of play we were accustomed to in the start of the season. Bryant Moniz (Mo) had a tremendous game 21-36 for 337 yards 4 TD's 2int and 76 yards rushing. He has placed himself solidly as the lead quarterback, shedding any doubt any of us fans may of had when Greg Alexander was lost for the season.
I am looking forward to next weeks game against New Mexico State to see if the warriors can keep this ball rolling and try to salvage the season.

Hawai'i vs Utah St
Well this is probably the best chance that Hawai'i has toend this losing skid. The matchup is definitely in the favor of the warriors. As long as Mo can continue his progression as a high caliber quarterback and Javonte Taylor continues to improve this should be a very exciting game to watch. Hopefully the defense will show up for this game because we are getting torn up on that side of the ball.
