Hawaii wins
The Warriors defeated the Aggies by the score of 59-24. This victory along with the defeat of Boise State by Nevada, ensured at least a 3 way tie for the WAC Championship. Hopefully we can get lucky and have both Boise State and Nevada lose their last WAC Conference game to give the title outright to the Warriors.

Alex Green was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week, and Corey Paredes was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week!

Hawai'i Wins
The Warriors dominated Utah State to claim a 45-7 beat down. Alex Green was an animal rushing for 171 yards and 4 touchdowns. Corey Paredes intercepted 3 passes to help insure that Utah State had no shot at making a comeback on the Warriors.
Game Balls go to:
Offense: Alex Green RB
Defense: Corey Paredes LB
This was yet another very impressive outing by the warriors on both sides of the ball. I will be the first to say that the Warrior defense has made me believe in them again, I was sure that it was going to be a long season they way the Defense played in the first 3 games of the year.
Great Job Warriors, Bring on the Vandals!!!

Upcoming Game
This will be a great game to tune up for the next two contests between Idaho at home, then at Boise State. Utah State while a opponent you don't overlook, should still be an easy victory for this Warrior team. Hawaii's offense is a tough one to shut down and the defense is really playing well, as seen in the job they did against Nevada.
Nevada Falls Flat
Hawaii did what most thought was the impossible, they stopped Nevada's running game. This allowed the Warriors to come away with a huge home victory over the 19th ranked Wolfpack 27-21.

Hawai'i vs Louisiana Tech
This should be a good tune up game for the Warriors, heading into WAC play. I am really looking forward to seeing Bryant Moniz carve up Louisiana Tech's secondary. Moniz and Salas,Pilares, and Pollard have been really clicking and making Hawaii's Passing game one of the best in the Nation.
Hawai'i has a great time to showcase it talents against a Louisiana Tech team that is looking like a team in rebuild mode right now. This should prove a great opportunity for Hawaii's defense to start showing some sign that they can stop offenses on 3rd downs.
I 'm going to predict a 45-17 final score, with Hawai'i pulling away to bring their overall record to (3-2 overall, 1-0 WAC)

Game Recap
Well the slaughter of Charleston Southern is over to the score of 66-7.
Bryant Moniz put on a passing clinic, throwing for 397 yards and 6 touchdowns as well as running for an additional score. This easily makes him the player of the game. Hawaii's Defense played really great tonight(Yes, it was against Charleston Southern), but it is still nice to see the Warriors moving in the right direction heading into WAC play next week.
There were several injuries two major was Adam Rosehill tore his ACL, and Rodney Bradley has a hamstring injury that could see him missing anywhere from 1 to 6 week.
Great job Warriors now lets just repeat that performance against Louisiana Tech!

Game Day
The game day is upon us and now we just have to sit back and wait for the Warriors to take on Charleston Southern. This is going to be a great game for the Warriors to re-tool and get ready for WAC competition. I'm going to predict 63-10 final score with Hawaii being able to rest the starters after the first half.

Game result
Unfortunate turn for the worst and the final score is 31-13 Colorado. The offense did fairly well despite the fact that Hawai'i couldn't run the ball to save their lives. Bryant Moniz finished with 330 yards 1TD and 1 INT, Kealoha Pilares caught 6 passes for 117 yards and 1TD.
The defense still needs alot of work, the Warriors are way to porous in the secondary. If they can get this fixed they will be able to prevent what happened in the last half of this game. Now we just need to look to the game at home versus Charleston Southern to rebound and build the confidence back for these guys.

Post game thoughts
Well, there are many thing s to be taken from that game. First is that the Offensive line has greatly improved over last year. It was very impressive how well they protected the Quarterbacks and the holes they opened up for the running game(Yes I did say running game). Coach McMackin still has issues with clock management and the team needs to learn to hurry and hike the ball when they know that there is a potential to review a play. It was very impressive that Hawai'i beat USC in many of the stat categories as well.
The biggest issue of them all is the fact that Moniz hasn't figured out that he needs to slide to avoid getting is dome rocked by a defensive player. He is the center of the Warrior offense, and the last thing he needs to be doing is going for more yards head first. In all it was a great game even though we have a 0-1 record, in a way it still feels like the Warriors came away winners.

Warrior Updates
Aloha everyone.
Lots going on for the University of Hawai'i Athletics.
1) Rainbow Wahine's are moving on to the Super-Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to face #1 seeded Alabama. Go Bows!!!!.
2) The Rainbow Baseball team is the fourth seed in the Wac Tournament where they will face Louisiana Tech on Wednesday the 26th
3) The biggest news is that of Offensive Coordinator Ron Lee announcing his intention to retire on June 15th. This will be a very big loss for the Warriors, at least he was willing to stay on to work with the team for spring practices. Best of luck to Ron and his family.

WAC Honors
Congratulations to Stephanie Ricketts and Josh Slaats. Both earned Pitcher of the Week Honors for the WAC. This was Stephanie's 3rd of the season and Josh's 4th. Great job to both of these athletes!
Start Times for Games
I just put up a new poll to go along with the survey that was conducted recently. UH asked season ticket holders what times they would prefer. I am hoping for 5:00PM HST due to the fact I live in Oregon. Most of the games are ending around 11:30PM-12:00AM PST. Sometimes it is rough staying up if it isn't a nail biter. So please take part in the poll, I'm really interested to see what other opinions people have on the start times!
Aloha!

NFL Draft Update
Aloha everyone, well sadly none of the Warriors were selected the past three days. This just leaves the one option of tryouts at training camp to sign as free agents.
2012 schedule
Hard to believe that Hawaii added Lamar to the 2012 football schedule. This is the first football team that school has fielded in over 2 decades! While I appreciate the fact that this is one for the win column, this will not do any favors for Hawaii for rankings due to the weakened schedule. I also understand that this is the AD's philosophy towards scheduling, but there are many other schools to choose from ex. Appalachian State, Richmond, Villanova, etc. At least these schools would give Hawaii a shot at some respect from ranking voters. Let me know what your thoughts are on this team!

Women's Softball Update
The Bow's defeated Louisiana Tech 3-0 to improve their record to 34-11 Overall and 12-0 in the WAC. Congratulations to them on this great season.

Rainbow's Softball
The Bow's are on a tear, The other teams are having trouble keeping the ball in the field! I believe the home run total i saw was 106 for the season so far which is just incredible. The Bow's are ranked 25th in the nation and are 11-0 in the WAC and 33-11 Overall. That sweep of the broncos was a nice addition to an already stellar performance this year. The coach collected win 700 which is also another impressive mark . Keep going at this rate and these ladies could be hoisting a title banner at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium (RWSS).

Turtle Bay Webcam
Sorry for the fact that the web cam has been down for so long. Looks like they have been doing something at the resort and have had the camera down during that project. It is supposed to be up sometime this month.
Mahalo everyone and have a great day, Aloha.

Basketball Head Coaching Candidate
ESPN contributor Dave McMenamin reported yesterday that Kobe Bryant's father, Joe Bryant is intending to apply for the opening as head coach of the UH Men's Basketball team. This not only would help in recruiting for Hawaii due to name recognition, but would also give more media attention to the team due to the Kobe connection.
I think that this would be a great opportunity for Joe to return to the NCAA Coaching scene.

Topics
Its been hard these last couple of weeks to come up with anything to post on since the football season is over. Unfortunately the Men's and Women's basketball seasons aren't going as well as we all hoped, all though there is still time to pull out a winning record for both.

Hasn't really been anything exciting to report lately on the sports side for UH lately.
